The Copy Void Beast [Roman Flames and Wave Darkbright]

Mission Name: The Copy Void Beast
Description: A rift has opened in Terra that leads to the void. Nothing has come through besides a really weak void beast. According to our expert they say it can copy the DNA of anyone it chooses, so it can be highly dangerous. Your job is to capture the beast or kill it as long as we have at least a limb to conduct research with. Also be mindful that when he copies a person or thing he gains their skills, strengths, abilities, as well as their weaknesses.
Requirements: Bring back part of the void beast for research and kill it.

Sitting upon his throne, Roman Flames were finishing up the documents that he has been meaning to finish. They started piling up some time during his excursion with Sir Wave and Lay Aurora. He'll have to make a mental note to try and have the gods to let him make preparations before leaving with them. On the topic of the gods, the former slaves he had brought into the empire were adjusting to their new lives. He had recently gave them citizenship and are slowly becoming accustomed to the empire. He'll have to try and make some time to visit some of them. He was the one that brought them here and he felt that he should be responsible for them.

Letting out a tired sigh, Emperor Roman set down the documents and relaxed in his throne. He has finally finished the paperwork and his hand aches from the amount of writing that he had done. He expect to have a few moment to himself to relax, but life as an emperor never that fortunate. Just as he relaxed, the doors to the throne room burst open as a disheveled old man entered. The action caused the emperor to resumed his posture as a emperor, but he aches for relaxation.

"Your Majesty, I have urgent news!", the old man stated as Roman registered who the individual was. It was one of the scholars that is stationed within the castle. "It has come to my attention that a rift had recently opened and a creature from the void had entered into Terra!", he stated.

At the news, the emperor perked up as he thought about what he had been told. A void best in Terra? Such an incident is quite rare. From what he could tell from the few cases, creatures from the void can be dangerous on a large scale. Innocent lives may be at stake! "Where was the rift opened?", the emperor asked the scholar.

"The rift opened within the Free Lands. Specifically in the Plain Lands.", the scholar answered. If that's the case, then this incident may become a national issue. The Plain Lands bordered quite closely with the LeVain Empire and he really didn't want to get on their bad side. Then again, a void beast may have useful information from The Void and the information may be useful for the Albastion Empire. Especially if it is to spread its glory. But how will he approach this? He'll have to come along to face this creature to explain the LeVain Empire of the situation should they become involved. However, he need someone reliable. Someone that can take on many dangerous beings and live to tell the tale. But who?

Wave was relaxing about the castle doing nothing as he usually did. It was such a uneventful day as he had heard no news of anything interesting. He had nobody to hang out with either, his children were training the other Nexus soldiers and Albastion's soldiers, Roman was doing paperwork, Natalia was on guard patrol, Nemesis hadn't been around much, and Necra was who knows where. Thus leaving Wave to his lonesome he tried everything to occupy the time however nothing seemed to work at all. After about a solid hour of this boredom Wave decided to go snoop around the castle.

He had used his new powers of manipulating the shadows to travel through them itself and he went straight to Roman's throne room to see what he was up to. When Wave arrived Roman was still doing nothing but paperwork which was boring just to watch so he knew doing it was twice as boring. Suddenly right as Roman finished one of his scholars came bursting into the room and Wave thought to himself *I wonder what this is about.* The man then explained to Roman that a rift to the void opened in the Freelands. Wave thought that this had to be the doing of a silly human, however it become more interesting when the man said a void beast had came through.

Right after the man finished giving the details Wave emerged from the shadows of his throne and said "Well Roman we should go and get that void beast. Imagine the magical and technological advances we can make from it! Everyone knows the void beast power is like two thousand years ahead of that of human magic and about 500 ears of god magic." Yes that was it Wave was now determined to catch this void beast and use it as another research project just as he did the half man half plant creature they found in the sky mountains. After all the plan couldn't possibly go wrong. "Meet me at the castle entrance in 20 minutes Roman. We will capture this beast before it causes any damage. And young scholar bring me any information you can get on this beast, and I need it before I leave." Wave then made his way to the castle entrance where he would wait for Roman.

"Young?! That's a first time I have heard that!", the old scholar laughed as the gray god left. "Who on Terra is that man?! Haha!", the old scholar asked the emperor through his fits of laughter.

Watching the gray god exit the throne room, Emperor Roman let out an annoyed sigh. "That would be Sir Wave of Darkbright.", the emperor answered the scholar. He was rubbing his temple to ease the headache he was having. Aggravating the current king is a feat none had accomplished. He has always been tolerant of others and gives everyone the respect that they deserve. For the old fallen, he has always had a bad habit of doing things without thinking through for the sake of others. The young emperor needs to get the fallen god educated on how things work within the empire. One cannot simply eavesdrop on another conversation as if it was no issue at all. He was also expected to have some time to relax after the paperwork he had done.

"Guard, have my advisors clear up my schedule for the day. It would seem that I'll be paying a visit to the Free Lands for possible diplomatic reasons. Oh, and tell them that I'll be gone for the day. Chances are that my current objectives may take up most of my time.", the emperor ordered as he got off of his throne and proceeded to meet up with Sir Wave. Along the way the old scholar came up to him and handed the young emperor all the files with information that his scholars managed to obtain about the void beast. Not feeling like looking through the information, he took the files and gave them to Sir Wave when he meet up with the god.

"Here's the files about the void beast that the scholars managed to obtain.", Emperor Roman stated as he handed Sir Wave the files. "I'm sure it'll have information that we may need to know once we confront the beast. I doubt it'll be an easy task.", the emperor stated. "Then again, nothing in life is easy.", he added.

Wave saw Roman heading towards him as he stood in wait by the castle entrance to begin their new quest. When Roman got over to Wave he handed him the file the scholar had on the void beast. The beast was a class A void beast although its physical characteristics and attributes were rather low, something that threw Wave off. To himself he though *These charts must be wrong or something.* however he had no time for that as he threw the file into one of his truth seekers and went about his business. By the time he had put the file away Wave had already memorized everything he would need to know about the beast.

Apparently the beast had very weak physical attributes itself but he could become very strong by mimicking people, monsters, and even other void beast. Wave thought that no such thing could exist but he would seen be proven wrong. Wave threw the hood of his cloak on his head as he went out the door and said "Lets track a monster shall we my friend?" Wave and Roman would then begin to walk out the country and towards the freelands toward where the beast was currently roaming about. After about a quiet 30 minute walk Wave would look at Roman and say "Tell me Roman, do you have no problem with me, my new appearance, and the fact that im now a fallen god?"

Meanwhile in the freelands, the beast that they were tracking down was running rampant copying and destroying everything in its path. The creature was a very small and cute being that looked very similar to a small dog with scales instead of fur. The being was very odd looking but also very dangerous. The creature had just trashed a village and as soon as he finished he left faster than what he came. Wave and Roman would then come across this village to find it completely in turmoil with what appeared to be no survivors. Suddenly Wave saw somebody stuck under the supposrt beam of a house, so he decided to help the guy out by using his truth seeking balls to raise the beam allowing for his escape. Upon his escape Wave looked to the man and said "What happened here?"

The young emperor looked up at "King of Nothingness" when he was asked a few questions. "Hmm? Oh, no, I have no problem with your status as a fallen god nor your new looks. Although, you're still the same as you when you were still a god. You tend to ignore common sense and you do as you please as if it was normal for you. It's quite annoying to me when your disregard for normalcy occasionally make some of my days hard.", Emperor Roman answered the "King".

As they arrived at a village, Emperor Roman was horrified by the damage done to it. No matter where he looked, he could not find a single survivor. However, Sir Wave have a different opinion when he rushed over to a house and pulled out a single surviving villager. The emperor let out a sigh of relief at the sight of a survivor. He walked over to the "King of Nothingness" and waited for the villager to inform them of what had transpired.

"It... It all happened so fast.", the villager began. "The start of the day was normal as any other. But... there was a loud explosion.", the villager continued as he remembered what he heard when the rift opened. "We didn't know what happened. All we know that after the sound of explosion, all of the animals were acting mad! All of the dogs faced the same direction and began barking. All of our farm animals ran off in the opposite direction of where the dogs were barking. We just didn't know what was happening!", the villager stated. "Then it came... That... thing came to our village. We didn't know what it was. It looked a lot like a dog, but it wasn't... It has scales instead of fur and attacked out village with no hesitation. We tried to fight back, but it something that was impossible! When one of our youthful farmers attacked it... it took his form! It looked like him! It sounded like him! Watching its face as it attacked everyone was horrifying. It kept taking their faces and attacking until it had enough and left. I... I guess I'm all that's left.", the villager stated before he began to weep.

The Emperor saddened by the event that had transpired. That creature must be stopped! Who knows what else it can do while they are not stopping it?! "Sir Wave, we need to hurry. We can't have an incident like this happen again.", he stated to the fallen god. Turning his attention back to the villager, he asked, "Do you know where the creature went, sir?"

The villager lifted his hand and pointed in a direction. "It went west. That's where the animal ran to after it was done with the village. Please... Please stop it.", the villager begged as he continue to weep.

Wave was slightly discontent when Roman said he didn't liked how Wave behaved however Wave thought that he acted completely different from when he was a god. The fact that he had lost the use of his emotions made him think that he acted different. After the two had heard the story of what happened to the village from the lone surviving villager Wave was prepared to take action, however he must first get the villager to safety. Wave summoned Suzaku and said "Take this man back to the village, take him straight to the castle medical center to have his wounds treated." Suzaku nodded as he grabbed the man and teleported off.

Wave now looked at Roman and said "Well let us go catch a beast, shall we my friend?" Wave then began to walk west as he tried to pick up on the beast's tracks. Wave knew that combating something so powerful would require smart thinking, so as him and Roman walked he devised a plan. The plan was to let Roman continue alone, as crazy as that sounded that was the plan. This was because Wave thought that if the creature only copied Roman they wold be on par. The two of them would then tire each other out and after that Wave could come in for the finishing blow. As he thought up this plan he would then share it with Roman to get his thoughts on it. After all it was his life who was going to be in danger.

After hearing Roman's thoughts on the plan Wave would begin to smell something. The smell was very foul and sour and it was a smell Wave was familiar with it was the smell of blood and rotting flesh. When Wave looked to a clearing over to his right over a hill and saw many dead animals. There was flies all over the place and the smell of guts and blood could probably be smelled from 40 yards away. Wave then covered his nose to block the smell as he looked to see which way the trail of bodies went so he could continue to track the beast. "He went north from here." said Wave as he continued to follow the trail.

As the two search for the Void Beast, Sir Wave had devised a plan and wish to know Emperor Roman's thoughts. Listening to the plan, Roman instinctively hated it due to the fact that he's going to be used as bait and to weaken the creature for Sir Wave to incapacitate. He wanted to tell Sir Wave that the fallen god should be the one that draw its attention, however he hold his tongue as he thought about. The creature had displayed the ability to mimic the form of others. If the Void Beast mimics the form of Sir Wave, it may be near impossible to defeat. Although, if Roman was the one that weakens the beast, Sir Wave will have a much easier time to knock the beast out with less effort. Furthermore, Roman has faith that the "King of Nothingness" will not allow the beast to slay the emperor.

Sighing in resignation, Emperor Roman accepted his role. "Very well, I suppose it is a wise choice to do so. I just hope that it won't copy your form.", the emperor stated to the fallen god.

As the two continue to head west, the young emperor was overpowered by a foul odor. The scent alone could make the emperor nauseated. Looking ahead of the two, the emperor saw the carcasses of the farm animals that ran from the other village. Unfortunately, the beast has caught up to the farm animals as it made a mean out of them. He could just puke from the sight and smell before him.

When Sir Wave stated that the beast had headed north, Emperor Roman attempted to steeled his nerves as he prepared for the confrontation that will eventually occur. "Let's just get this over with. I can't stand our location at the moment. It's making me sick to my stomach.", the emperor complained as he followed Sir Wave. As the two continue to head up north, they could see something from the distance. As they come closer to it, they can make out a person leaning over a cattle. It appeared as if the person was eating the cattle raw from the way it was ripping out the organs and eating it as if it was no issue.

"Is that...?', the young emperor asked the fallen god.

As Wave and Roman headed north, Wave began to think about his past as a god. As he thought about it he remembered when he met Roman's father, a man who soon became his best friend and greatest ally. Him and Roman's dad used to do stuff like this all the time the only difference was they were actually almost on par in skill level. As he was still thinking Roman began to speak and it knocked him out of his train of thought. Wave looked at what had caught Roman's eye off in the distance however he wasn't exactly sure what it was. When he continued to look he saw it was a man eating raw cattle, which was disgusting to watch. Wave was then sure that this was the void beast just still in the form of one of the villagers he had killed.

Wave looked at Roman and said "Its show time buddy I hope you are ready for this." Right after saying this Wave sucked himself into hs truth seeking balls and attached them to Roman's back just like he did up on sky mountain. Wave was now talking directly into Roman's mind and said "Stick to the plan and when he is close to being tired I will come out and attack. Also you have access to my abilities again, so good luck I will be here to provide... moral and tactical support." Wave's voice then would fade out as he said this. Wave was now simply a spectator in this event that would surely be interesting to watch. This event also gave Wave a flashback of the time he spent with the kid's dad. However his mind quickly went back to the matter at hand because he had to stay focused and alert. Wave looked at how the creature was behaving and then said to Roman "First make the maximum amount of birds you can. Ride one of them and lead all of them to crash into him and whatever you do don't let him touch you... Once he touches you this fight will be much more difficult but if you can win before that we are golden."

Listening to Sir Wave's advice, Emperor Roman nodded in agreement. "Very well, I shall do my best to apprehend the creature.", he stated in response. Placing his hands together, he gathered his magical energy into his palm to begin creating his birds. Remembering Sir Wave's instructions, he created his maximum as fast as possible. He created 14 magically constructed birds that were all the size of waterfowls and 1 large bird that resembles a hawk that he will be using to fly around the beast.

Looking at his creations, Emperor Roman nodded in approvement as he mounted onto the hawk he had created. The hawk flaps it wings and began to rise off of the ground. His other constructs followed him into the air they were all at an altitude of 20 meters. "Hmm, this will do. Hopefully that beast hasn't mimicked a bird or I'll be in trouble.", the emperor muttered to himself. He had the hawk flew closer to disguised beast until the emperor was right over it. The creature was too busy eating to notice the large bird over it. "I'm in range, Sir Wave. I'm going to make my presence known now.", Roman stated as he ordered all of the 14 waterfowls to dive towards the beast until they all made impact. Several large explosions of fire was created from the impac where a cloud of dust blocked his view of the beast. Did the emperor caught the beast?

Leaning over his creation, Emperor Roman attempted to find the beast through the cloud of dust he had created. Where is that beast? That explosion isn't lethal at all! Was it incapacitated? Is it that easy to deal with the beast? No, there's no way it can be that easy. Nothing is ever easy in life. He ordered the hawk to increase the altitude to 30 meters off of the ground. No doubt that the beast must be planning on something in retaliation. The emperor needs to be careful. There is little that he truly understand the beast. It can mimic the form of others, but it was never stated of how it achieve this feat. Was it tactile? Does it have a range? Can it memorize its form? There's too many variables that he doesn't know!
